Title: 1199 transducer mounting
Post by: Msivil01 on April 12, 2015, 06:28:20 PM
I just bought a new/used Lund Pro V.  Dealer mounted the si transducer on the transom.  It is just below the boat.  First time out had water spraying on the motor at speeds.  Should I raise it up to be flush with the bottom of boat?

Welcome to the forum. I also have a Lund. Because these boats are made of aluminum and a billion rivets, we end up in a unique transducer mounting situation. For the transducer to work properly, it requires a smooth flow of water over the surface. The dealer probably mounted your unit lower to avoid the bubbles created by the rivets. By doing that, the water can also flow over top of the leading edge of the transducer creating a rooster tail / spray condition. Your transducer mounting bracket has three slots so small adjustments can be made. Try using these and raise the transducer to see if this helps.
