798c HD SI
« on: September 09, 2011, 05:56:17 PM »
I have the new 798c HD SI mounted at the front of my boat with the trolling motor transducer. Everytime I pull up the trolling motor without shutting off my unit, the unit freezes and I have to unplug it from the quick disconect mount and power it back on. Is there something wrong with my unit? or should I just be getting in the habbit of turing the unit off before pulling the trolling motor out of the water?

You should not have to unplug the unit whenever you pull the trolling motor out of the water.  The unit may not be showing the correct depth but it should not freeze up.  Not sure where the problem would be either, maybe call the Customer Resource folks and see if they have a suggestion.

Just make sure that you have your cables run so that raising your trolling motor is not pulling or tugging on any of the cables for your unit.
