Title: Question for Rickie or anyone
Post by: newkid4si on September 13, 2020, 11:35:52 AM
Suppose you had two units at the console.  One a core unit, ie 1199 and the other a new mega unit with the transducers mounted on the transom correctly. If the core was transmitting at 455kHz and the mega was transmitting on a mega frequency, at the same time, do you think there would be interference between the two?  Thinking of the 1199 for SI range and the mega for detail at less range, while doing lake survey work.

Hey Mike  ... I didn’t realize it was you at crappie.com  ... here is a copy of my answer there  ...

The conundrum with HB units is the units always transmit the 2d piezo for digital depth ... so they may be crosstalk interference even with the imaging frequencies set different on each unit ...

Crosstalk interference can by discerned by turning one unit off while watching an interference issue on the other unit - if the interference goes away = crosstalk ...

Crosstalk interference can sometimes be mitigated with the Noise Filter in the Setup tab ...
Crosstalk interference can sometimes be mitigated with adjusting the 2d frequency on one unit ...

Thanks Rickie.  I thought I remembered you mentioned about the 2D before, but I wasn't sure.
