998c SI Software Download Issues
« on: May 30, 2012, 07:53:45 PM »
I'm trying to update the software for my new 998c and ran into some issues, possibly related to my ignorance of computers, etc.  I first downloaded the HBPCv.4.3.3.  I clicked on run because I understand that I'm supposed to download that to my computer.  Is that correct, or was I supposed to click on save?

Next I tried to download the sonxtf.  When I click on save, I get the options to either run or view downloads.  If I click on run, it tells me I need .NET Framework v.1.1.4322.  I have no idea what that is or what it means.

Can anybody help?

Never mind.  I got it figured out and was able to update my software.

I think I was trying to download things I didn't need on my computer, which has Windows 7.  I just skipped that stuff and downloaded the update to my sd card, and uploaded the updates to my units.  It went very smoothly.

I'm relatively clueless when it comes to computers, and I'm pretty confused about what I need to do to view recordings on my pc, but I have a friend with HBs who's a bit of a computer geek, so I hope he can help me out on that.  If not, I'll start a new thread.

I also noticed what appeared to be some interference on the left side of my si my first time out, which I think might be caused by the metal screen over my livewell intake.  But, that's another topic as well.

Thanks!  I had heard about Humviewer, but hadn't seen a download for it.  I'll give it a try.
