hello i have just got myself a 898si combo & was wondering if my unit comes standard with contour xd,i am in australia if that makes a difference?

It will depend on the software version installed but I would think you have it . If you mean Contour Mode
1. Contour mode will be on SI Enhance menu in the SI view and   "Contour Mode" will be an available selection. The default is off .

g`day  Geoff,i was actually talking about the base map side of things,sorry for being so vague,i really don`t know what i`m doing with this unit yet, here is the link i`m talking about

i`m unable to get out on the water at the moment but i also don`t think that i have the sonar contour mode either,& i was told that`s it not a good thing for the transducer to be used out of water?

G’day T.G.,
Those ContourXD maps are only for the domestic units and are in the U.S.A. and not the rest of the earth.  I think that all you will have will be the UniMap in Australia.

No, running the transducer while out of the water will not harm it.

thanks Greg,when i go into chart select it wont let me do any thing,i guess i will have to get a map card.

Yes you need a map card in to be able to make changes to that menu.
