Hey all,
Long time reader, first time poster. I bought two Helix 7's (both with version 7.780) in March of 2016, they are first generation units, because they are not network or CHIRP compatible. I see that Humminbird released a second generation Helix 7 this year with networking and CHIRP capabilities. Does anyone know if Humminbird is going to release updates for the first generation units to be network and CHIRP compatible? Or at least provide a purchasable upgrade that will allow these first generation units to be network and CHIRP compatible? I'll be honest, I was hoping Humminbird_Greg may know something no one else does :) Thanks! Dan

The chirp and networking capabilities are both dependent on the unit's hardware ..... a software upgrade alone can't add this functionality.
