RTS Window
« on: August 02, 2016, 01:45:04 PM »
Can someone who uses the RTS Window (Real Time Sonar) tell me the benefits? I turn mine off and just use the far right side of the screen to view the real time data. What is the difference between the RTS Window and the data coming across the right edge of the screen?

The most recent data is 1 vertical pixel wide on the 2d image display ...

The RTS basically stretches horizontally those pixel returns across several rows of vertical pixels (dependent on the RTS width setting) ...

I shut it off also ...

Me too, except on my Helix 12 DI - it looks good in the center of the DI/2D split screen and I have the real estate....

My RTS is normally in the OFF position except for special situations. An example is we have located a sunken speed boat in 46 FOW. When I drop a marker on it for the divers, I want it in the front seat instead of in the general area. At that depth, in this lake, visibility is less that zero.  RTS makes this easier.
