new 1197 c si nvb Questions
« on: September 01, 2010, 09:57:13 AM »
I just got a new 1197. Need to know how to put roads, railroad track exc. on the nav. screen (overlay I guess). Also on my old Lowrance it shows my local lake and with this unit there is no lake there.  Please give me some help with these issues if possible.

Tim,

The lake may not be on the NVB charts but is most likely on the base chart from Humminbird.  It will not have all the depth info, but will show the outline.

It may be on some of the newer charts from Navionics.  The NVB charts are from 2006.

I will find the link to check and see.

Tim, if the lake outline is on the base maps, you will know it if you are on it. If you are not on that body of water, with an active GPS view, you can move the curser from your present location to the body of water location and see if it is there. You can move the curser to that location in the Simulator mode also to check.

Did you use Navionics with your Lowrance to get that body of water or did you use Lowrance Hotspots?

There is no way to add roads, railroads tracks or anything else onto the maps for the Humminbird units.
