Topic: 859 CI HD with Quadrabeam ducer :-(

So my new 859CI non DI model gets here and my new quadrabeam ducer gets here a day later. Update the software first thing to present version 7.2. Update goes normally . So everything is great so far. Set up transducer for ice fishing and select for quad beam option on the 859.

I notice the quadbeam view is active on one side only. Run down to local docks to try my float configuration to use ducer as an ice ducer. Float works great but still only one side on display . Take back home and plug unit into existing set up for quadrabeam ducer I use on boat with my 899 C. The 859 still only displays one side.

Plug the 899C into ice setup quadrabeam works perfect proving that the new ducer is a good one. Call Humminbird customer service. Talk to fella named Matt. Matt promises me an answer asap. Wife needs to go out to eat,get back check email. Matt has emailed me a return slip for unit. Informs me he had Tech tank test an identical setup. Since tech could not replicate the problem they know its a unit malfunction.

While its a little irritating that I have to return a brand new unit . It surprises me greatly that such fast attention was given to my problem. This is the third time I have had to use CS @ Humminbird . Each time they have hit the ball out of the park.

Kudos to the whole Humminbird team. Now if you guys would just make a quadrabeam ice- ducer so I didn't have to Rube Goldberg  a contraption to get the plastic thru hull ducer to act like one.
