network issues
« on: February 15, 2015, 04:35:34 PM »
I have a 788ci HD DI on the bow, A 899 ci HD SI on the console , and IPILOT Link all hooked to a 5 port Ethernet switch and cannot get the network tabs to come up on either unit. Also it does not show the IPILOT connected. Any ideas?

Are you sure the switch is powered correctly?

Maybe try connecting the 2 units directly to each other and see what you get .... and go from there.

When I first turned them on, I had the network tab come up on the 788 and even named the unit. Then after that I lost it. I have not checked the power supply yet that was my next move. The other issue is my I Pilot link does not show connected on the 788.

Are they all connected thru the 5 port switch?  That would be a common point, if it wasn't working none of your networking would work..... Isolate by connecting direct and bypassing the switch.

I'll try that, I checked the power to the 5 port switch as you suggested and I think that could be the problem. It would be nice if they had a power light on them so you could tell if you had power. Thanks for the help.
