Convert Routes to I-Tracks
« on: May 19, 2015, 12:36:15 PM »
Is there an easy way to convert routes on the onix (using the cursor to make a multi point route along some structure) and convert it to a i-track for my terrova i-pilot link trolling motor.

The reason I want to do this is if I "follow the contour" on my new map it zig zags like crazy making it difficult to troll. If you cut a couple corners and follow the structure generally it seems to keep the lines less prone to tangling.

i found ipilot link the same fishing river with current and wind as well,
the ipilot  link  seemed to zig zagged and at times lost as to where the contour was..
i thought it was supposed to compensate for wind and current?
any users  out there have suggestions ???
EZM   could you not plot waypopints and get the ipilot to follow your contour or record a itrack?

The i-pilot can record it's own track - no problem there.

I was just wondering if there was a way to use the cursors (which automatically save as a route by default) along with your auto chart map to make your own i-track and save it as a i-track (not a route).

That way you save time and and just hit "follow the track" instead of having to manually steer through the entire route first and then save your recording as a i-track.

If the minnkota can follow a route this way - then why can't it be saved as a i-track? That was more my question ..
