Mounting Unit on Pontoon Console
« on: September 21, 2013, 11:08:47 PM »
I am glad I found this forum.   I have a question about mounting the head unit.  I have a Crest Caribbean pontoon Currently, I have a HB Matrix 17 mounted on the console.  I am planning to install my 898 on the console.  I am wanting to try to keep from drilling more holes in the console.  There are four screw holes plus the cable holes for the Matrix 17.   I am thinking about using a block of wood or plastic  to screw to the console in the same holes as the Matrix 17.  Then mount the unit's bracket  or a Ram 111U to the board.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Creativity is the mother of invention.  Sounds like you have thought about this. I don't see any reason it wont work.. Post a couple of pictures when done..
