Title: Different Versions/Types of Lakemaster with Ethernet Networked Fish Finders
Post by: snooktarpon on May 28, 2018, 09:05:45 PM
I'm setting up a Ethernet network with a 1199 and 899 (and Ulterra). I currently have a LakeMaster Plus Great Lakes V1.0 (V2.0 is the current version now) that I've been using in my 1199. I now need to get a 2nd card for the 899 so I can share waypoints, etc. I went to https://fishfinders.factoryoutletstore.com/ (since they have the older maps) to see if they have the Great Lakes Plus in V1.0. Unfortunately, they do not. The only have the non-Plus version for the Great Lakes.

So my questions are:
1) Are the LakeMaster Plus and standard LakeMaster compatible with each for network fishfinders (to share waypoints, etc)?
2) Are the LakeMaster Plus V1.0 and LakeMaster Plus V2.0 compatible with each for network fishfinders (to share waypoints, etc)?

Waypoints are created and stored in the unit internal memory  ... regardless if there is a mapping card in the unit or not  ...

If there is no map card in the unit - those waypoints are displayed on the Contour XD base map (also built into the unit memory)  ...

Your 1199 and 899 should share waypoints as long as there's an Ethernet connection, both units are powered on, and "Waypoint Sharing" is Enabled under the Networking tab  ...

LakeMaster regional map cards and LakeMaster Plus regional map cards are the same except the LakeMaster Plus cards also add satellite overlay imagery and pictures of marinas you'll never visit  ...
