Does anybody have an image of the 9 series boot logo with added 4 lines of custom text? I don't have access yet to my boat to test, but I heard the new Humminbird logo gets in the way of the 4 lines of custom added boot text you can add via Humminbird PC?
-
I got an answer, no the new boot logo does not get in the way of the text, the old logo did...
-
Really? The old logo did not get in the way of the text on my 998c Si unit, but maybe I didn't have enough in each line.

Thanks to "SFW1960" for the screenshot, the boot screen logo from version 7.020 got in the way of the text

That would be the current 800 series unit and the new logo...
-
so is the 999ci HD SI boot screen different?
-
ALL,
With the release of the latest v7.460 software the boot logo changed to this:

From what was shown with v7.020 on my 899ci HDSI, I have heard the 999 logo also changed, though I do not own one. The 998c HDSI remains unchanged with v 7.510.

I can't get my custom text to load on my 999, I have the text added to the sd card via Humminbird PC, I powerup the 999 with the SD card in the slot and let it fully boot up, I then power it down and back up but no custom boot text is visible..
-
Can you make and view a Screen Snapshot on that same memory card joemx1825?
Try powering the unit on first and then install the memory card.
-
i'll test it tonight - Can I just leave the SD card in the unit once the boot text is loaded? This will be my snapshot card too...
-
Yes you can.
What you will find is that if you put a blank SD card in there that the unit will load the same data to the memory card whenever you save a Screen Snapshot or export your waypoints, so either way the personalized text info ends up on the SD card.

I finally got the boot text to load, but only after I went into my SD card and edited the profile.txt file manually. If I tried to load the boot text via Humminbird PC it wouldn't work...just a heads up, editing the profile.txt is a heck of a lot easier!
