Title: Well I took the plunge into nmea
Post by: thunderbucket on April 01, 2013, 11:43:20 AM
Started rigging my boat this weekend and since I am only running the one 898 I don't need the Ethernet port hub, just the nmea2k adapter... All is  good except when I took the nmea2k adapter out of the package and realized the cable is only two feet long.

I haven't seen a male to female cable on the humminbird site to extend the length to reach my 898 mounted on my console,  can anyone point me in the direction of a cable supplier, or has anyone have any experience with this 8)

You mean the AS-ECX-30E Ethernet Extension Cable?

That is what the AS-ECX-30E is:
AS ECX 30EAccessories760025-1.Ethernet Extension Cable

The Ethernet Extension Cable is a 30' cable that allows you to extend the length of your ethernet cables.

Thanks or the PDF file... Funny thing is on the humminbird website it shows cables with both ends the same

30' is going to be overkill... Do they have a shorter cable with a male and female end?

No, that is the only Ethernet extension cable that we have.
