« on: August 08, 2015, 02:17:13 PM »
I recently installed latest update  7.6 something or other.... well the 7.5 update was still on the card.... I might have switched it back to 7.5 in confusion of installing the update...

either way now my SONAR, SIDE IMAGING, DOWN IMAGING does not work.......... the GPS works and the Temperature reading works.... just not getting a sonar ping.... I mean nothing at all  no depth no imaging only a black screen...... help quick!!!!

what do I do????

My understanding of BRICKING a unit is to take a functioning unit and turn it into a NONfunctioning unit so screwed up that you can't recover it.
The next step usually involves a trip by said unit to Humminbird Repair.
When you use a SD card to update the unit, make sure that ONLY the new update is on the card. Nothing else.
I'd call HB customer service first thing Monday morning to confirm this. Good luck.

If the GPS is working and you are seeing a temp reading on the sonar screens, the unit is working (at least partially I think) ...

Are you testing the sonar views on the water ... ??

You will get no discernible images on sonar screens pinging thru air ...
-------

Can you get to the Views tab in the Main Menu and make "Visible" the "System Status" view ...??

Then exit out of the menu system and cycle thru the views to get to the "System Status" view to verify what version of software is installed in the unit ...

Like Mike mentions ... It's a good idea to only have 1 version of software on a SD Card at a time ...
