Hello everyone,
I have a question about HDSI transducers. I have just purchased an 1198c SI and it came with the XHS-9-HDSI 180T transducer, I would like to mount this on my trolling motor, I do see that Humminbird does have a XTM-9-HDSI 180T for the Trolling motor mount.
After trying to find extra info on the differences on the two and coming up empty, I thought I would ask here.
Is there extra shielding built into the XTM?
I noted the XHS has, 20/60/86/55 Degree, 200/83/455/800 kHz
And the XTM has, 20/60/180 Degree, 200/83/455/800 kHz
How will the difference in degree affect me?
I have also seen the TM mount you can buy for the XHS

After a couple more hours of goggling, I am not 100% sure but it may be a typo on the humminbird site, and they are exactly the same transducer. the only difference being the xtm comes with a TM mount and a shorter cable.
so if i am going to mount it with a Transducer shield and saver, i don't need to do a swap. I was hoping the XTM had extra shielding.

They are exactly the same transducer, including the internal shielding (which both have) and the same length cable. The only difference is that one comes with the transom mount hardware and the other gets the trolling motor adapter hardware.
Keep the one you have and go with the TS&S adapter as it helps protect this expensive transducer.
