Title: Help with settings deeper water SI Helix 10
Post by: Phister87 on May 28, 2020, 10:09:28 AM
Hi

As a new user of humminbird (or new user of sonars over all) i have little knowledge about the settings. I was wondering If Anyone in here could help out with the best settings for my Helix 10 msi+ when looking for wrecks and Interesting structures with sideimage on deeper waters. The depth i mostly will use it for is around 80-115ft (~25-35m). And it is brackish water (If that makes any difference). Mostly sandy sea floor. I have been looking on tutorials on youtube for hours but all on shallower waters.

Thank you in advance!

Lower frequencies travel more readily in deeper water so you may have to experiment with the 800kHz and 455kHz frequency sweep ranges  ...

Also experiment with fixed frequency by turning off CHIRP in the CHIRP Configuration Menu under the Setup tab  ...
