Title: SD Card Question
Post by: Rick72704 on November 28, 2015, 08:57:09 AM
I have read throughout the forum that the Sandisk Extreme III card is used/mentioned for use in humminbird finders.  I have not been able to find these locally, so I found them online. When I received the SD card it was not the extreme III but a Sandisk Extreme SDHC UHS-1 card.  My question is will this card work in a Helix 9 SI GPS. What other Sandisk SD cards that should be at local stores (Walmart, Office depot) would work without problems in the Helix?  Thanks

A follow-up question would a SDHC card 32 gb SanDisk Ultra work in the Helix as I found them on sale at Sams until 11-30-15 for $12.86 each.

I would think that your best bet is the  Extreme SDHC UHS-1 card because the specs say that it will write up to 45mbs where the others say that will only write up to 30 megabytes per second.  You should always use a faster write card because there is less chance of slowdown when your unit is writing to the card.   You can do a google search for the various cards an compare their specification info to get the required info you need.
