Unknown Wreck?
« on: August 30, 2009, 04:40:41 AM »
Morning people!
Been out yesterday and scanned an area where I had some contacts when I started with my 981 in May. At that time I wasn't really familiar with the unit and had contacts all over the place, but nothing ever showed up as a clear target.
The settings are the key for success, as it proved true again yesterday. In May I just drove out and wondered what the contacts are. Now with the right settings of SI Range, Graph Speed AND the right Boat Speed, it looks like I've found another wreck.

Dive Time!!! ;D

Regards / Harry

Nice, that you have such a flat boden at your see.
Every detail can be seen.

Hi Hendrik,
another good one from you. It took a while, but now I got it.
That's propably why Lake Constance is called "Bodensee" in German   ;).

I thougt I'll give you a hand to speed things up by using boden for bottom and see for lake.
Now I think it slowed down the proces by using 2 languages in one sentence.

Just kidding, I like wordgames  8)

He he, 981 strikes again!

Curiosity won once more today, so I went diving to find out what the pictures are showing.
Now I'm more than happy to introduce you to my first salvaged "wreck"  ;D.

Cool!

Now conact the insurance company and perhaps they pay out a small fortune for finding their lost boat!

Really interesting to see the actual boat in comparison to the SI image.

Danke,

Reso

Ha ha Reso,
I don't think that anyone would pay a cent for this kayak. The fiberglass shows already bubbles and it stinks like a sewage gutter.

Harry,

Is this find from one of the images above and which one so we have a reference?

Great story. Some of the finds I have discovered make me want to learn to dive.
Do like the big fish do, eat the little ones. Throw the big ones back so someone else can have an enjoyable day on the water.

Teamleader,

Never too late to start!  I enjoy the thrill of finding stuff that others may not have seen or touched for hundreds of years, or maybe solve a mystery of a missing car!  Right cbgeorge! ;)

Go get certified!  I'll dive with you!
