Depth question
« on: March 30, 2010, 09:59:06 PM »
got my unit back. All hooked up and turned it on. My depth is showing 1.4 ft and it is out of the water. Is this an issue? will the depth be accurate when i put it in the water?.
Again thanks to the great service at Humminbird

Well, you may get a reading when its out of the water, but it will not read correct.  The speed of sound in air is slower than the speed of sound in water.
