Title: 997c si P900 Connector Pinout
Post by: 49thdiver on January 04, 2016, 02:41:21 PM
Hi any one have a pin out description for the P900 connector on the main board.
I had to replace the 7 pin connector years ago as it did not stand up in my environment with the frequent plug and unplug cycles I was subjecting it to. I am replacing the SI transducer again this time I am making an adapter between the standard HB cable end and my waterproof 9 pin connector so save me cutting the new transducer cable. I just want to confirm that I have all the pins wired correctly internally on the WP connector, looking at it again it looks like the orange and brown are switched.[attach=1][attach=2][attach=3]

With thanks

Holy moly diver ...

And I thought rewiring xducer cable was intense ... I can't imagine rewiring to the internal board ...

Although I don't have the pinout for the wires from the connector to the board ...here is the pinout for the HDSI xducer cable connector ...

Heh thanks Rickie, I have this drawing it's the other side of the connector that I failed to document properly that goes to the main board.
It's funny how it goes when you start hacking into these things, I installed it on the boat a year ago and noted that the SI seemed to be reversed. I simple switched the cable connections around and kept going. Of course my memory is not so good on the details. So now that I am replacing the xducer and do not want to cut the cable I am looking at it more carefully to make a short adapter pigtail and want to get it right the first time(or second time). It looks like I switched two wires by accident inside the plotter. So I just need the wire colors on the inside of the connector to confirm my assumptions. The wires are not the same colors on the inside. Yea I did the original mod out of desperation, the original connector just got to be totally unreliable and the service center in Vancouver was not helpful. I have built a tow from a salvaged xducer that I want to connect to the system as well which is also the reason to upgrade to a much better  connector.

If anyone even had a photo of the back side of the connector showing the colors of all the connections that would help !!

Thx everyone for looking.
