Saving system settings
« on: August 31, 2015, 06:34:27 AM »
Is there a way to 'save' all my custom system settings to my SD card?
Whenever you update system operating software you always need to restore the system defaults.  After the update you have to go back and enter all your custom settings again.  Is there a way to save these custom settings to the sd card then just reload them following the update?

Saving favorite settings is not available in core units after a Restore Defaults ...

Onix has that feature ...

While it seems aggravating to have to reset all your favorite settings after a Restore Defaults ...it does help you become more familiar with the menu system and where certain menu choices can be easily found ...

Thanks Rickie.
This saves me the trouble of searching for this feature...more time to dedicate learning the unit.

Also, sometimes with new updates, there are new options added.
You may not see the new options, unless you go through the menus.

I found the most effective  way to get thru Main Menu System and set my favorite settings is to start with the tab on the right and go all the way down thru that tab ...

Then when the highlighted choice returns to the tab title ... Cursor left 1 time the the next tab ... And repeat ...

This stepped process will get your Views and Setup menu choices changed early in your process of re-setting your favorite settings ...

ITGEEK also makes a good point above ...
