998 connected to computer
« on: March 17, 2013, 07:41:27 AM »
Gregg, we have a get together in Benton, KY for a group of us to learn more about SI.  With the size of the group, it will be hard for everyone to see the screens and learn.  I have a projector screen that attaches to my laptop which projects the screen image on the wall.  I see that the PC2 cable will attach between the compter and 998.

My question is, will  the images on the 998 be duplicated on the laptop screen?

chuckauten,

I am sure Gregg will chime in tomorrow when he is back in the office.  The PC connect cable is just used to sync with Humminbird PC.  It does not display anything.

What you need to do is use the Video out feature of the 998c and patch it in to the Projector Screen.  Or if you laptop has has Video in, you could connect it there.  You will need the VC-1

Glad to hear you have a good group.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with.

Good Luck,

Benton KY, I will be there doing some crappie fishing the first week in April, we will be trying out a new 587 ci hd di fish finder. I have been practicing using mine the past couple weekends attached is a pic of 3 skids put together in a trinagle I think. the thing is i don't really know how to set up the di finder yet. i see a lot of clutter in my images, Still learning how to clear them up it can be so confusing.

bKY,
Start another post and add some Screen Snapshots of what you are seeing for the clutter.  We can then make some menu setting suggestions.  Also see if you can tell if it appears only when the boat is moving or if it shows when stationary too.  Rough water conditions of just after a rain can cause a lot of surface clutter too.
