Screen size
« on: June 13, 2011, 10:56:16 AM »
I read here that the nav info can't be moved or minimized from the screen to get a bigger pic of the bottom.
How much sonar screen (not inc nav data) is available on:
998?
898?
798?

thanks.

What are you meaning by “the nav info can't be moved or minimized from the screen to get a bigger pic of the bottom”?
Are you meaning the digital readouts on the left side of bottom of the display or something else?

From what I read here the nav info is always displayed and from screen shots it looks like maybe 1~1 1/4 wide on the left side. Is there a feature that will shrink that or move to another screen?
What I trying to find out is how much of the screen is viewable for sonar with the nav section minimized on each size screen. 8, 7 & 5 inch.

Since the HB can't support N2K info but has interesting DI and SI sonar features maybe a 7 or 5 screen will do the trick. I am fishing saltwater so my needs may be a bit different.

thanks

These are the digital readouts.  No, there is no way to shrink them or move them.  This has been an asked for change for many years now…

What is the process for HB to listen to user requests?
Do we have to re-issue a request after a certain period of time if nothing is done, since it appears our request is lost in time passage..?
Does this forum get reviewed by HB or do we have to go directly to HB (Johnson Outdoors) with our needs for issues that help our usage for the unit when it come to feature upgrades?

Be careful what you ask for Chuck.
HB may hurry an update with selectable box sizes for the digitial readouts.
Then, because the update was rushed, Side imaging may stop working until the next update.

Ouch!  :o  ;D ;D ;D

Chuck, I checked on whether they still review the Wish Lists on this and a few other web sites and they do.  I don’t know if it would be a big technical issue to do this or some of the other suggested changes but at least they look at what the Customers want.  There have been a few suggested changes from this web site that were implemented so far and hopefully will be more in the future.

I would hope they do check and then forward to committees. HB offers a good machine but it certainly does lack some of the enhancements of other quality sonars..which are needed functions for boat owners and fishermen..

Hey Greg,
I asked for this awhile back but still haven't seen it in any of the updates.

When looking at Waypoints, whether it be by name or distance:
You have to begin at the top of the list and scroll down.
It would be nice, if you are already at the top of the list and press the up arrow, that it goes directly to the bottom of the list, so that you can scroll up through the list from the bottom.

From a programming standpoint, I wouldn't think this would be that difficult.
