898 HD SI
« on: March 29, 2013, 11:24:05 AM »
Had 998 and 898 HD SI installed on new boat with I link and 6.61 software. Trolling motor trans on 898, transom on 998. On DI it has white lines coming across screen when it refreshes they go away to return. I switch locations with 989 and 898 and it still does it. Also it is a lot darker on right side than left on SI.
Thanks for any info.
Julius

Julius,
On which transducer does this happen: trolling motor or transom?

Does this happen only when the boat is moving, main motor running, over a certain speed or when the trolling motor is running?

If it is the transom mounted transducer doing this, can you post a pictures of how it is mounted?  We would need to see an overall picture of your boat’s transom, at least one from the left and one from the right side of the transom (looking across to the opposite side) and all at about the same height as the transducer.

Can you post some Screen Snapshots of what this looks like on the Di sonar and also one of the Si sonar with the Si Range set to 20 feet?

It does it with both transducers and with all other electronics shutdown.
It looks like it maybe trying to do an overlay of something??
I will get some screen shots and pic of transducers locations.
Thanks,
Julius

So both the 898 and 998 units are doing it on both transducers?
Hmmm, let us look at those transducer install pictures and screen snapshots…

Yes, the 998 wasn't doing it, but I was trying to see the setup to fix the 898 and of course you know what happen..they both do it now. I am almost sure it is something I did but I went back to factory defaults several times with no fix.
Thanks,
Julius
