transducer on 898c si
« on: December 07, 2011, 11:04:44 PM »
I have a 15 ft. war eagle boat .I put a 898c si transducer on it.Does anybody know why the digital readout on sonor goes crazy. If i'am in 6ft of water, it reads 6ft and then jumps to 18 to 25 .I have moved the transducer about three times .It still fluctuates up and down.It reads the bottom contour ,but the digital numbers goes crazy. You could be trolling and does same thing.Any help would be very helpful.

So this happens regardless of the speed of the boat Wilson?

What about if the boat is drifting with the trolling motor and all other motors and electronics off?

What software version are you running in your 898c Si unit (not sure if your profile shows the correct version)?

Thanks for the help. I loaded the 5.70 version and ajusted the deep saltwater to shallow saltwater on the sonar.Took it out on water today and it worked perfect.Funny how a little ajustment makes a big difference.
