Interlink Randomly Disconnect/Connect
« on: February 06, 2016, 10:31:28 PM »
I have a 997 interlinked to an 858. Both use their own GPS antenna's. For no apparent reason the interlink will disconnect and connect on it's own. The boat is just drifting in the current so I wouldn't think the connections would be the cause. When they are connected everything works great. Just don't understand what could be happening. I have never had any power issues with either of my units.
Any ideas?

How long have you had this setup? Has anything changed?  What software versions?

I never used the interlink, but I know it was a little temperamental.

I have had this set-up since 4/13 and haven't done any updates to anything since then. I have heard of people having connection issues in rough water but in my case I am calmly drifting when it happens. It is totally random as to when it happens and how often. It is so frustrating I am just thinking about disconnecting it unless I want to to share waypoints with the other unit.

You could consider replacing the 997 and connect the units via Ethernet.
