Title: Onix help
Post by: Dgr57 on July 19, 2018, 10:02:50 PM
I recently bought 2 used onix 8si units one touch the other nt . They came with just one si transducer and a 2d in hull transducer I know they will share everything from the transom transducer but I like to dropshot so I liked to have a transducer on the trolling motor also.so could I put a 2d transducer on the trolling motor and connect to the front unit without causing problems. Thanks  for the help

find a 2D/SI/DI ducer for 2D+DI for the trolling motor and you could use the y cable for 2D on pad reading and a SI/DI transducer on transom for si unit on console

You can connect the XTM 14 20 T to ONIX and shut off the SI and DI transmitters in the unit that the XTM 14 20 T is physically connected to (in the Sonar source Menu)  ...

If the units are connected by Ethernet you will still be able to get SI and DI from the SI xducer that is physically connected to the other ONIX  ...

So if I understand every time I want use the bow 2d transducer just for dropshoting go in that unit and select that transducer and then turn off si and di. Then most the time I can select the transom transducer and get everything up front. Thanks guys for your help

There is no Transducer Selection Menu in ONIX (or SOLIX)  ...

Go into the settings Main Menu and choose Sonar from the list on the left  ...

Then on the right (I think it's called Source) - turn off the DI and SI transmitters to where only the 2d is still selected for the unit that the 2d xducer is connected to  ...
