Hello from RGecy

(1/1)

RGecy:
Well I just wanted to get started by telling a little about myself.

I was born and raised here in South Carolina and have lived in the coastal town of Beaufort since I was 10 years old.  Basically I grew up on the water fishing, skiing, surfing, etc!  I am an avid scuba diver and have been very active in the sport for the last 6 years.

I was fortunate enough to get involved in a venture with 9 guys from Treasurenet.com and haven't looked back since.  Basically, we are Treasure Hunters.  As a treasure hunter I was very familiar with Side Scan Sonars and when Humminbird came out with the 987, I immediately went out and bought one!  I haven't looked back since.  I really don't use the Humminbird much for fishing, but I still get out every now and then with my youngest son. My primary use is for diving and finding old wrecks, or the occasional sunken boat or car.

Since Humminbird did not have a viewer for the recording files, I became active in developing a program to either view the files or convert them over to existing viewers like YellowFin and DeepVision.  Hence, the birth of the HBSI Converter.  As of late, I have been working on developing a much more sophisticated version of the HBSI Converter.  I wont make any promises, but its nearing completion!

Anyway, I look forward to more of you guys posting some images and maybe even starting a Personal Page.

Thanks,

Robert Gecy
