Best way to format snapshot/recording cards?

Hi Guys
Going to have another go at recording/snapshot
Got a new 16GB card today, and will have some practice on the simulator view

Do you format in unit or some other way?

For my cameras they are all formatted in the camera
I have a 798 ci HD SI

If memory serves me correctly format in your PC, then insert to unit for encrypting.
