« on: July 30, 2015, 01:48:55 AM »
i love humviewer. love being able to view my recordings on my computer and mark waypoints and tracks. it's a nice program. the problem i am having is exporting to HB pc. i can't get it to export gpx files. >:(  and this is what i most want to do with the program. it will export the google earth files (kml Files). i have turned norton of...have un installed and reinstalled the. i'm now looking at if it's a java issue. running windows 7 64 bit. any suggestions would greatly be appreciated on getting this program to export gpx files.

yeahh already tried that.....i'm not getting a file exported at all. i wouldn't care where it sent it too. name the file a specific name and then do a search and nothing. i did read LittleGazoo post inTTF. Still have issues and at this point i'm looking at my machine so i was checking in to see if anyone found a work around the not exporting.

Try this workaround ...

*Create a new folder on your desktop ...Label it anything you want ...

Then in Humviewer ... After you have created waypoints in the recording playback ...

*Click "File" in the upper left of Humviewer ...
*Click "Export" ...(Save window should open)...
*Select "Save in:" ...  Change this to the "New Folder" you created on  the desktop ...
*Select "File Name" ... Enter file name you can remember ...
*Select "Files of Type" - "Humminbird files (*.gpx) ...
*Select "Save" button ... (What to include window should open) ...
*Make choices of what to include ...
*Click "OK" button ...(Data saved successfully popup should show) ...
"Click "OK" in data saved popup window ...

The .gpx file should now be showing on your desktop (not in the New Folder you created but on the Desktop itself) ...

You should now be able to open HBPC and locate that .gpx file on your desktop ...
-----

I have no idea why creating a New Folder on the Desktop allows this to work like this ...and I have no idea why the .gpx file is not being saved in the New Folder created on the Desktop ... But it does work on my Vista machine ...

fyi ... There is a missing delimiter in the gpx file write directory/filename text string. If one wanted to save file TRACK01.GPX in directory C:\DOCUMENTS\LAKES\ROUTES you will find the gpx file created in the LAKES directory with filename ROUTESTRACK01.GPX. The missing delimiter prevents the file from being written in the target directory by writing it one level up.
