Title: Upgrading powerdrive fro iPilot to iPilot link
Post by: jhogue46140 on April 29, 2015, 08:58:29 PM
I recently bought a humminbird 999 so decided to update the trolling motor to take advantage of the link functionality. I have a powerdrive V2 with iPilot upgrading to an iPilot link. Control head is coming Friday. I am reviewing the instructions on line and it is for going from non iPilot to the link.

My question is this. Does anyone know if I can just disconnect the iPilot at the grey connector and connect the iPilot link. See picture. Thanks

Thanks. I sent them an email. I am anxious to try the link. Hopefully this weekend. Thanks Doug

There are four wires that had to be installed/uninstalled IF you had added the i-Pilot System to the TM.
If you bought the trolling motor with the i-Pilot pre-installed, then you must swap out the connecting wires on the control PCB as shown in the installation instructions.
I have the original i-Pilot and just uninstalled it on my v2 a few weeks ago.
Once you get all your control head. remote and i-Pilot Link controller on the latest software - you're gunna like it!!

G'Luck~
