Hummingbird Basemap version 0000
« on: August 17, 2022, 02:43:54 PM »
Hi, I am new to this site and I am certain I am not the only one who has asked this question. I recently downloaded the new software version 2.75 to my Helix 7 chirp, mega, si, gps,gen3 and lost my basemaps. :-[  (My mistake). Talked to Humminbird tech and they told me how to reload it, but it didn't work.  >:( My question is will my unit function ok with my Lakemaps?

Thank you!

Yes  ... LakeMaster mapping is read directly from the mapping card so it should work regardless if the basemap works  ...

Hummingbird tech told me to format the SD card, Download the 2.010 onto the SD card only, Start up my Helix unit, restore to defaults, then power off, turn the unit back on, then put the SD card  in and wait for the prompts.  It prompt me to make a selection to load updated from 0.000 with Base map version 2.010  "Yes, No".  I selected yes. It prompt me to abort "Yes, No" I selected No. It then looped back to the first prompt.  I tried it several times, but it just keeps looping back to the beginning.

You might try downloading the update from Humminbird again  ...

Maybe the download got corrupted somehow from Humminbird  ...

Yes, I tried it several times without any luck. Formatting the SD card, downloading version 2.010 from Humminbird's support website and get the same results.  I can't understand why it cost so much for Humminbird to install the software ~$230.00

Unless the unit is covered under warranty, they have a flat rate repair program.  They charge the same rate for any repair unless it is screen related.  I believe that's the cost for your unit.
