Title: 1198 Transducer Question
Post by: Stevebrownfnr on June 24, 2012, 10:04:44 PM: Just bought a new Triton that came with a factory installed 998 in dash. The 998 transducer is mounted on the transom. I installed my existing 1198 and connected the two together with an Ethernet cable. Is the stock 998 transducer the best approach ? My old 1198 transducer was a bottom mounted style and will not mount on new boat. I do notice my down imaging is not as sharp as I'd like.

My experience has been that the sharpest Di images are when the Down Imaging Beam Width is set to the Narrow setting, but maybe that is just me.

Post by: Humminbird_Greg on June 25, 2012, 02:12:55 PM: All three of those units have an Ethernet connection. The Ethernet hub (AS-ETH-5PS) can be used to connect them all together. Not sure if we have released that for sale yet though.

Monday is their busy day so I try not to bother them. Plus two of the folks I normally call for this sort of thing are out and the third one’s phone has been busy since I read this. Just got through and confirmed that we are shipping them and we do have a few of them in stock.
