software release dates.

How can one look at an upgrade or software release and tell from the file name the date of the release?
How can we determine the date the file was created for release?

I don’t know that it is possible Chuck.  Perhaps with those newer longer file names it is but I have not heard so.

At first I thought the long name to be a bit lengthy, but on second look how nice to be able to tell what we have....
from the current long name I cant make heads or tails of what it means..
maybe something like unit_date_level_and then what ever else HB wants..

Greg....Something else for you to do on a rainy day in Al... ::)

for the time being I will stay with the long name releases as they come out..
It got a bit confusing renaming them to a short name and now trying to keep track of and identify the fixes to the original name.
I will stay with the current humminbird naming option..
