Title: Helix 9 SI GPS missing Autochart Live?
Post by: braunjo on June 26, 2018, 03:01:51 PM: I bought a Helix 9 SI GPS back in 2016 and have tried a few times to get Autochart Live to work but have not had any luck. I finally had time this last weekend to dive into it more and noticed that in the menus, all references are just "AutoChart" and not "AutoChart Live"....every video and picture that I have found of the menu's online include Live.

Am I missing something, or does my Helix (which says Autochart Live on the box) not actually have Live? As I understand it, Live is standard on all 9 SI GPS models.

I have tried many many times to turn on AutoChart in the menu's and have gone through all the settings multiple times, but nothing ever shows up on the map and the top right corner always says "No Chart".

I do not have a Zero Lines card yet, but was going to test it out with the 8 hours included recording before I buy the card.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

Is it possible that since I live in Canada, there are no charts available pre-loaded on the unit? I fish on one of the more popular lakes in Western Canada, so I do find it hard to believe that chart info wouldn't be included.

I did find this download on the Humminbird website and will try it next to see if I can get a chart loaded. Software Update - Basemap for HELIX 9, 10 and 12 G2 and G2N v 1.51

If I am reading the manual correctly, a chart needs to be loaded and displayed before AutoChart will work...and since the top right corner of the unit says no chart when I am in map view, I think this could solve the issue?

I downloaded the free basemap off of the Humminbird website and loaded it up on the unit and AutoChart started working immediately. It also showed all my recorded data from when AutoChart had been turned on previously while testing things out.
