New guy
« on: May 11, 2013, 02:41:19 AM »
Hey people, pretty politically correct hey  :) Well just wanted to say hi and that I finally got my Terrova 80 ipilot link and the Hummin Bird 998c HD SI all hooked up. I took the boat out once this year with the 998 and it is pretty cool got so much to learn though. Next to try out the whole system maybe I took on to much LOL. Going to have lots of questions to start out one would be on this system I don't really use the sonar on the motor right? And another would be what will I need to charge the batteries for the motor?

No, you would still use the Side Imaging transducer for the 998 unit for its sonar.

Welcome New Guy.... I'm a new guy too. with almost the Exact same setup, except my Terrova is a 55, I bought a HB Piranha Max, Small inexpensive portable unit for Ice Fishing, took the Head and Its now a permanent fixture in the bow of my boat, connected it to the transducer in the Terrova, works great. lets me know if fish are under the Bow.

This forum is Awesome , you will be able to find lots of info on the 998,
