998 side image transducer issue

My 998 was working fine.  Yesterday the sonar and side image quick sending a read out; like there was no connection. I reconnected and still no read out.  Does this mean I should buy a new transducer or are there other problem solving techniques I should follow?

If you still have your 1198, you could remove the cable collector and connect the power and transducer to the 998 to determine if the problem is in the unit or the transducer.

I dn't have an 1198.  Only have the 998 with no sonar.

I was just looking at the units listed in your profile .... but the same thing applies if you know someone else who has a setup with a SI transducer.....you could test on their installation or test their unit on yours.
