Title: 899 issues
Post by: Spottedbass on October 01, 2014, 03:44:26 PM
why is HB still selling these units I got my 899 and the down imaging has white lines running across the screen and the pixelation is horrible in 2d. I called HB and they said they are known issues and are working on it. Really they dont say that on there advertisements we pay good money for this stuff and HB release these units with known issues not to happy why should the consumer do the testing for them. First time with a HB maybe my last just my 2 cents

I have one, not a huge issue because...
The white out in DI will only occur if using the scroll @ 2 & sharpness enabled - bump up your screen scroll rate to 3 and it goes away OR turn OFF the DI enhance "sharpness" (or both).
Tuning the unit with just sens. & contrast will get you the same results that you would get using "Sharpness" as the newest S/W works pretty well - I don't use 2D much but running a scroll rate of 4 and dual beam gives pretty fair 2D IMO. Most guys complain about the dual beam - and I like it better than the 200KHz which is the worst for me. I use SI/DI far more than 2D - but if you want the best 2D your machine can provide a "work around" is to set the XDCR type to "Dual Beam" or "US/2" on the XDCR selection menu, the processor isn't polling the SI/DI section so more processing power is available for smoother 2D.
