ALL SI Models - Track Lines Color by Depth
« on: August 15, 2011, 10:19:47 PM »
Model:
ALL SI Models
Suggested Upgrade:
Track Lines Color by Depth
Explanation:
Would it be possible to improve "Color by depth" option to use all RGB pallete, not only different shades of green as it is now.
It's very easy and handy as it is at the moment but it would have much more detail if there would be an option to use different colours for a specified depth range (lets say similar as Dr D colour pallete).
This way your map would be created automaticly simply during your fishing and it would be more detailed as you keep fishing each lake.
You could then have separate set of tracks for different lake (on separate SD cards) or create separate single track for each lake (i did that manually for one lake simply by connecting tracks from different days inside the *.gpx file, if you start and finish in same place each day it looks perfect, there is no "jumps" across the lake).
Unfortunatelly it is in green shading only and it's not enough detail.

Thanks for moving the post Robert!

@Rudiger
I mean it ;) Color by depth is really great option for showing depths across the lake and if it had more detail it would (at least partially) solve the problem of lack of map coverage for european lakes.

Amyone tried to play around with this option?

An older post with great merit....
I agree more colors to allow better visualization,,,
(color by depth Shades of green) although a good idea is not very visually pleasing on display
if HB were to add say white green blue black.......the contours would be much easier to see

if the green option is already there surely it shoudnt be too hard to adjust for other colors on same track..thoughts?
I hope someone at HB sse this post :)
