Title: Humminbird TS3 transducer switch installation
Post by: RBrad on January 08, 2016, 06:52:42 PM
This switch has the red power and black negative wires, wrapped in foil.  It also has a "naked strand" wire between the foil and exterior wire plastic/rubber coating.
I assume the foil is to help with interference.  And installation shows normal red/black. Nothing on the "naked strand" wire.

Is the "naked strand" wire supposed to be hooked to ground or just left alone?  Or what purpose does it serve?

I think the foil, the bare wire, and the black wire are conductive together to dump interference to the negative post of the battery ...

I think I nipped my bare wire off at the point where I trimmed the outer casing ...
