Importing data from SD card to 1198c si
« on: May 08, 2012, 03:33:53 PM »
I have been looking in the owners manual and only found exporting.  Have not put the SD card in the unit and played yet.  Don't want to actually delete my old waypoints from my 1197 and the lowrance ones I converted.  After putting the SD card in and powering up, what do I do?  Thanks

All you should have to do is install the SD memory card with the converted waypoints from your Lowrance unit or the Exported waypoints from your 1187 unit and power the unit on.  When the unit turns on it should recognize the waypoint data on the memory card and load non-duplicate waypoints  [Non-duplicate waypoints are those that have either a different name, coordinates or belong in a different group].  You should see a message that XX number of Waypoints, XX tracks and XX Routes have been loaded into the unit.  If the waypoints do not load; try powering on the unit first and than install the memory card with the waypoints on it.  Either way the waypoint data will still be on the memory card and can be saved to your computer for safe keeping.

Cool, thank you.  Heading to Leech Lake MN for opener and have way too many spots on that SD card to take a chance on losing.  I guess that's why there is no info in the onwers manual if you don't have to do anything.

Thanks Humminbird_Greg!!!  My 1198 hasn't even been on the water yet and I have 640 waypoints to choose from.
