Humminbird Understanding the Side Imaging View

Get an extra power cord and power supply and practice in your house in the Simulator mode as you read the manual.

Thanks Wayne, The 798SI came today. Th dvd that comes with the unit does a fair job as well.
Inaugural voyage in the morning. 44 with a wind chill of 38 in the morning.... Florida bass....
It might be a good day to play with the 798SI instead of trying to catch fish.

BTW the transducer looks exactly like the one from my 575

I spent several trips with my 1197 before I actually fished with it...

Wow, I'm very impressed at how easy everything was. And I managed 23 bass with a best 5 of 15 lbs. I was very surprised at how usable the SI is on just a 5" screen. I found a school of fish on the left side of the boat while cruising across a 20' deep flat. On the sonar I marked a couple of fish. On the right side of the boat nothing. On the left side was a school that was spread out over a 75' area. NICE! Cruised around almost 10 miles on my trolling motor today, marking way points and trying to not get the rod jerked out of my hand while watching the screen.
So far very happy.
