Surface clutter setting
« on: April 11, 2015, 02:11:58 PM »
New to the forum, hello!!! I'm running my surface clutter setting at 1, and not seeing an issue. I saw a video where Doug mentions keeping it at 5, but at 5 I actually get surface clutter. Am I missing something by not keeping it at 5? Such as: fish, bottom composition/structure/cover, or even the best quality picture? Thanks for the help!

You could be but that would be dependent on the water depth and size of fish.  If you are in very shallow water (less than 10 feet) you may be filtering out some of the weaker sonar returns from smaller baitfish that you want to see.  Otherwise it is really up to you personal preference.
