I would comment on the 2d set of pictures in that yes it does look like some fish there. Both in the si and the 2d.

Yes ck.  A large number of what you marked in the screen shots are fish, especially the elongated "arches" in the water column in SI.  I do a significant amount of walleye fishing; trolling, vertical jigging and drift fishing, and when I drift fish, my screen will look very much like "yours."  I drift fish when there is a stiff breeze and will move the boat at .5 to .9 mph.  If your boss likes to fish at anchor or at a slow drift, that's fine, but if he wants crisp detailed information about the fish and the bottom below him, he will need to pass over his intended target areas at speed first.  Record or "Mark" spots first, then go back and fish away at anchor.  From your screen shots, given the circumstances of sitting almost still in the water, I don't believe there is anything wrong with the unit at all, just some mild beginner operator error. ;)

ETA:  fwiw and imho, your boss is the one that should be on here asking the questions and getting the group's comments directly.  I realize that you're possibly trying to help him along the learning curve, but really, you're not doing him any favors by acting as a liaison to the forum for him.  There is always something lost in translation.......  If he's not computer literate, I guess that would be the exception.  I mean no disrespect, just telling it like I see it.

Best regards,

Mark

As weekend warrior says, you aren't going to get very good si pictures when going as slow as you are.  Many of the arrows you inserted do look like fish, but si doesn't work very well at speeds under 2-3 mph....the beam is so narrow you need more movement to paint the image.

it looks like you are pointing to the shadows of the fish. It looks like the fish are in the water column.
