Title: Fish in Picture?
Post by: spenwin on June 22, 2017, 12:47:31 PM
I'm pretty new to Side Scanning Sonar. I've read that small white streaks usually are indicative of fish.

Within my image does this seem to be the case? It seems like there's a ton for fish.

Thanks!

Yes you have lots of fish echoes in that scan  ...as indicated by the white streaks and white dots  ...

The longer echoes are fish that just happen to be moving the same direction as the boat -allowing the fish to be pinged several times  ...

What viewer is that from  ...??

Thanks for the reply rnvinc,

This image was taken with a 1198c. I ran the image through sonarTRX so get the color and to geo-reference the image. I am unable to get HumViewer to work properly with Windows 10 on my machine.

Nice to know that there are lots of fish down there!
