What do you guys think about a live chat feature?
« on: June 04, 2009, 09:58:53 PM »
I was thinking about adding a chat room but wanted to make sure there is enough interest.  So what do you guys think?

Any interest?

Robert

I never had an interest in chat-rooms but it has potential on this forum for problem solving, developing ideas and who knows where it will lead.  Before using the Side Imaging forums I have never used them and I find these to be a great learning tool, yes a chat room might be just the ticket to enhance our knowledge.

Hi Robert!
Chat-room it is good..... To deal with a question on preservation from a chat any useful and extraordinary decisions that they would not sink into a non-existence since it is stupid to keep all history of a chat.

Hi Robert
I have to admit that I normally stay away from live chat rooms as they can be way too time consuming. But a live chat is good as a work tool if a few people needs to 'meet' and discuss a problem or some ideas.

A few other things to take into consideration is:
- The timezone difference between us, I would quite seldom be online at the same time as you guys in the US.
- You will risk that some interesting discussion relevant for a larger group of people is kept on the live chat and therefore is lost for those that was not online at that time.

Just my opinion.

Best regards
Martin

Not a bad idea Robert,
especially for the winter or for bad weather season. Right now I'm busy scanning the lake and don't spend much time at the PC. Someone warned me that this will happen  ;).

If it's not not too much hassle to install this feature, I think it's worth a try.

Just got here today, Thanks for the great forum.

I enjoy chat sessions in several different rooms. Sometimes, there is a scheduled topic for discussion, and sometimes, its just to check in and see who is there, and chat for a while.

I say go for it.

I hope to be able to spend some more time here.

It seems that right now almost all of the boards I hang out in are slow.
