Title: Using iPilot Link to Follow Mission Planned Grids Optimized for Dr. Depth Data
Post by: downlooker on August 26, 2013, 01:57:57 PM
I've been trying to contact Dr. Depth with a question but their WWW site seems to be frozen in time (... I'm guessing because of their recent acquisition).  Found this forum after some Internet surfing so here goes.  Anyone out there used iPilot Link to automate your boat running along pre-planned grid lines thereby optimizing collection of data for use with Dr. Depth?  My idea here is to develop a Standard Operating Procedure for creation of North-South and East-West compass oriented grid lines in advance of a fishing trip, upload them to my Humminbird and then follow the grid lines once I'm on the water.  Of course I want to generate grid lines that are equally spaced to a distance that allows me generate a high quality dataset for Dr. Depth.  I intend to produce 3D views in Dr. Depth with contours and SI data without the holes I've been having so far.  Even if you've not used iPilot Link I'd like feedback on optimized grid line distance to eliminate my no data spots once and for all.

You could probably just make waypoints for the i-pilot link to follow...
Dr Depth was bought out by Lakemaster. They will be releasing Autochart sometime soon.
