Title: Best "view" when navigating to waypoint...
Post by: peterv6i on January 30, 2014, 08:26:00 AM
With Humminbird I also use Garmin GPS 60 (hand GPS)...
This GPS has a view like a "compass". If I select some waypoint I can easily navigate to that point looking at compas arrow , Dist to Next  and compas "deviation" showing me if I'am to left or to right with my boat from course..

Which is the best "view" / "way" to use HB998 to navigate to some waypoint?  (with minimum accuracy)

Not something I do and others might be more helpful.

You could view the HB 998 full navigation map screen.

You should be able to use the GO TO ... and then select the Waypoint of your designation.
HB alarms can be adjusted for off-course alerts.

This would be more suitable for traveling to distant waypoints.

And it is "as the crow flies".  I don't think it would work well if the designation waypoint was on the other side of a large point of land.
